Source comparison and change highlights
jsdiff 9.0.0 · BSD-3-Clause · provides word alignment for local approximate source candidates and highlighted AI revisions. License and copyright notice. Source comparison checks only saved abstracts or reference text supplied by the user. It does not search the web, establish authorship or determine plagiarism. CSL metadata import/export and complete source backups are processed locally.
Public research services
Crossref REST API supplies publication metadata and DOI lookup. Europe PMC REST API supplies literature metadata and available abstracts. Only an explicitly submitted search query goes to the selected service. Available abstract text may be copyrighted by its authors or publisher. Read and cite the original publication.
Further integration research
No code from the following projects is bundled. These projects inform the next integration review; their licenses and dependencies must be preserved if incorporated.
- OpenGrammar · Apache-2.0 · local-first browser grammar approach.
- TextChecker · MIT · browser extension with bring-your-own AI provider credentials.
- LanguageTool · LGPL-2.1-or-later core · multilingual grammar engine; self-hosting and service terms require review.
- clip.aid · MIT · local AI writing assistance approach.
- Lexicon · MIT · offline writing and document editor approach.
- Scramble · MIT · configurable browser extension approach; upstream says it is not actively developed.
Local checks run in the browser. Connected AI sends the passage, document or brief and writing guidance only when requested. Reference similarity compares only supplied text; research lookup searches scholarly metadata. Neither is a web-wide plagiarism detector.
